The short version

We store your email, the comics you make, and a record of what you spent credits on. Your prompts and reference art go to the model provider that draws them. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not use your work to train models. You can delete everything.

What we store

  • Account — your email address, and your name and avatar if you signed in with Google.
  • Your work — series, issues, page scripts, characters, the generated art, and the studio chat.
  • Credits — every grant and every spend, including which render it paid for. This is what lets us answer "where did my credits go", so it is deliberately detailed.
  • Payments — subscription and purchase records. Card details never reach us; the payment processor handles those and we only see the outcome.
  • Operational logs — generation jobs, their timings, and their errors.

Who it goes to

Only the companies needed to run the product, and only the part each one needs:

  • Supabase — database, file storage and authentication. Your work lives here.
  • OpenAI and Google — the models that write scripts and draw art. They receive your prompts and any reference sheets attached to a render. They do not receive your email or account details.
  • Dodo Payments — subscriptions and purchases, as merchant of record.
  • Resend — transactional email.
  • Vercel — hosting.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Training

Your comics, characters and prompts are not used to train our models or anyone else's, and we do not grant providers permission to retain them for training. Providers may hold inputs briefly for abuse monitoring under their own terms; that is their retention, not ours, and it is the reason this paragraph says "briefly" rather than "never".

How long we keep things

Your work stays until you delete it or close your account. Deleting an account removes your series, issues, characters and generated art, usually within 30 days across backups. Records we are legally required to keep — payment and tax records in particular — are kept for as long as the law requires, and no longer.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with a privacy statute, you have those rights by law and we apply them to everyone anyway. Use the button below and we will action it.

Cookies

We set cookies to keep you signed in. That is the whole list. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, which is also why there is no consent banner interrupting you.

Children

Komiks is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change how we use your data in a way that matters, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, not by quietly editing this page.
