Selling your comic
You own everything you make. The playbook: export, then sell digital or print wherever you like.
Komiks takes nothing from what you make and no marketplace sits between you and your readers. The files you export are yours to sell, and they are built to be sold: every CBZ and PDF ends with a credits page carrying your title, issue number and © line with your handle.
Digital
- Gumroad or itch.io: upload the CBZ and the PDF, set your price, link it from anywhere. This is the fastest route to first income.
- Your Komiks share link is the free preview; the paid file is the download.
- The Print PDF is 300dpi with bleed on print formats, which is what print-on-demand services accept.
- Lulu or Mixam will print single issues; Amazon KDP suits collected editions.
- Order one proof copy before you sell — every printer trims a little differently.
Funding and audience
- Kickstarter's comics category funds short print runs well — the share page makes a strong campaign preview.
- GlobalComix and Webtoon are where readers browse; posting there links back to wherever you sell.
An ISBN is only needed for bookstore distribution — print-on-demand and direct sales work without one.
