How lettering works

Komiks letters pages the way print comics do: the artist draws, the letterer typesets. New panels are rendered with no text in the art at all, and the balloons, captions and sound effects are placed over them from your script — in the studio, in the reader, on the public page and in every export.

• ·No more misspelled or garbled painted-in text — the words shown are exactly the words in your script.
• ·Editing a line costs nothing and never changes the art: rescript the dialogue and the lettering follows.
• ·Type stays sharp at print size, because it is set at export resolution rather than painted at panel resolution.
• ·Balloons follow reading order — left to right, or right to left in manga formats.

Pages drawn before this change keep their painted lettering. Redraw a page and it comes back textless with typeset lettering on top.
