Choosing an art style

Six house styles, from heavy ink noir to chunky cartoon, applied consistently across every panel.

The style is set on the series and applied to every panel, the character sheets and the cover, so the book holds together.

  • Heavy ink noir — deep blacks, hard shadows, high contrast.
  • Silver Age halftone — printed dot texture, bright flat colour.
  • Indie riso — limited spot colours with visible misregistration.
  • Manga screentone — grey tones and screentone shading.
  • Watercolour ligne claire — clean outlines with soft washes.
  • Chunky cartoon — thick outlines, simplified shapes.

The style shows in the studio's top bar so you always know which one the issue is using.
