## What it does

You describe a story in a sentence. Komiks breaks it into pages and panels,
casts the characters it needs, draws each panel in a locked art style, letters
the balloons and captions, and puts a cover on it. Finished issues export as
CBZ or a 300dpi print PDF, or publish it to a public reader. Komiks takes no
cut of anything a creator does with the result.

Art is generated one panel at a time rather than a page at a time, so a single
close-up can be redrawn without disturbing the panels around it.

## Formats

- US single issue: 22 pages, about 5 panels a page, left-to-right. 22 pages, the standard floppy.
- Webtoon: 12 pages, about 4 panels a page, vertical scroll. Vertical scroll, one long strip per episode.
- 4-panel strip: 1 page, about 4 panels a page, left-to-right. A newspaper gag. One page, four beats.
- Graphic novel chapter: 32 pages, about 6 panels a page, left-to-right. Longer chapters, denser pages.
- One-shot: 8 pages, about 5 panels a page, left-to-right. A complete story, start to finish.
- Manga: 18 pages, about 6 panels a page, right-to-left. Right-to-left, denser panel grids.

## Art styles

- Heavy ink noir: Deep blacks, hard shadows, rain.
- Silver Age halftone: Bright, benday dots, bold outlines.
- Indie riso: Two-colour risograph, grainy overprint.
- Manga screentone: Black and white, screentone, speed lines.
- Watercolour ligne claire: Clean even line, soft washes.
- Chunky cartoon: Thick lines, bouncy shapes, all-ages.

## Pricing

Metered in credits. One credit is one panel rendered overnight; two is one
rendered on the spot. Writing — beat sheets, page scripts, studio chat — is
free and never costs credits.

- Indie: $19/month or $182/year, 110 credits a month. 6 strips, or most of a one-shot.
- Creator: $49/month or $470/year, 300 credits a month. 2 one-shots, or a full issue overnight.
- Studio: $119/month or $1142/year, 750 credits a month. 2 issues a month, or 4 overnight.

## Ownership

Creators own what they make, outright. Komiks does not publish, license or
resell a creator's work, takes no revenue share from it, and does not train
models on it. Selling, printing or licensing a finished comic is entirely the
creator's business. The only thing Komiks charges for is credits, which pay
for generating the art.
